One of Seattle’s newest venues, The 101, is a large modern downtown venue in the heart of historical Pioneer Square. It’s received a lot of attention for it’s remarkable corner ceremony space that floods the venue with natural light.
While envisioning this shoot, we imagined a modern space, with unique features that focus on inclusivity and togetherness. The 30ft serpentine table allows for guests to easily converse with the people that are next to and across from them while creating a dramatic room effect.
The ceremony space faces the notably large windows that pour in natural light and show off the historic streets of Seattle. The windows aren’t the only notable piece of this shoot, but the 4ft grazing board that had everyone’s attention. What better way to bring your guests together than a grazing board, filled with dozens of different kinds of cheeses, meats, berries, crackers, nuts, jams, and other spreads. After guests are done at the grazing table, they can head over to the portable mini bar car. Yes, that’s right, four of your favorite drinks on draft, from beer, to champagne, to kombucha. This unique little mini bar car can have it all. To top it all off, a simple off-white with black splotches cake topped with figs.
Our lovely couple, Alexis and Sophie, are eager to get married in the near future, but are anticipating a less than traditional wedding; “no guests, no distraction, and no fears.” They’ve known each other since 2015 and found their way back to one another in 2019. Often separated by time zones, national and domestic borders, and thousands of miles, Alexis and Sophie are currently living in the same time zone for the first time in years. This experience and these photos are something they’re going to hold close to them for a long time. I’m incredibly honored to share that today, the 5 year anniversary of the legalization of same sex marriage, these photographs were published on Seattle Bride Magazine to show love and support to the LGBTQ+ community. Happy pride!
Thank you to all the vendors involved, this day would not have been possible with everyone’s help.
