Emily and Adam discovered my work through one of my best friends here in San Diego. My friend noticed that her friend from high school, Emily, was on the hunt for a Southern California Wedding Photographer. My bestie vouched for me, and I’m so glad she did because this couple is a true treasure.

Emily, so kind, intentional, and entirely present on her wedding day. At every one of our check-ins throughout the wedding day, she leaned in to listen, and finished with a “thank you Kayley.” Every. Single. Time. Her calm and gracious demeanor left a lasting impression to say the least. And just wait till you scroll down and see the photos of her twirling around in her gorgeous tulle dress, parasol in hand — she is radiant inside and out.

Adam, he has a contagious laugh that makes conversation with him all too easy. And while he’s kind and funny, there is no denying he is loyal and cares deeply about those he keeps close to him. During the ceremony, his genuine expression of love and admiration for Emily brought the entire room to tears.

Simply put, their energy is magnetic. And their wedding day was nothing short of lively, celebratory, and memorable.

With most guests flying in from Boston, their Carpinteria, California celebration had a reunion vibe from the start, kicking off the weekend with a laid-back welcome party at a local Santa Barbara winery.

It’s no surprise Emily and Adam had a large wedding party. If you’ve ever crossed paths with them, you’d want to be in their circle too. The bridesmaids wore a summery palette of pinks, yellows, and greens, while the groomsmen kept it classic in black suits.

The ceremony at Rincon Beach Club had this magical, almost storybook feel—ivy-draped wicker pendant lamps swayed over a lush, greenery-filled space. And when Adam described Emily as someone whose warm, bright, and selfless energy parallels the sun, well, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

As the staff transformed the space to host dinner, the orange glow of the sunset created the most effortless ambiance in the garden. Picture colorful blooms high and low and table numbers inspired by concert venues the couple had been to together—a nod to their love for live music.

Their reception brought the energy. One by one, their people delivered incredible speeches—each one mixing heartfelt moments with side-splitting laughter. And as you can imagine, the live band got everyone up off their seats and onto the dance floor.

As someone originally from the midwest and now based on the west coast, I felt like I got a real taste of east coast camaraderie—loyal, tight-knit, and deeply rooted in shared experiences. It was a true joy to be apart of this wedding day.
