Black's Beach, La Jolla Engagement Session

San Diego, I love you. You are so, so beautiful.

When Alciona and Austin reached out and expressed interest in an engagement shoot at the beach, we quickly agreed Black’s Beach would be worth the extra effort to go to.

Fun Fact: Black’s Beach is a clothing-optional beach, aka a nude beach.

It was also important to them that the photos had a warm and beautiful sunset. If you’re familiar with San Diego weather, you know that sometimes even on a sunny day, the marine layer can sometimes swoop right in and squash your dreams for a stunning California sunset.

We ended up rescheduling the first time around, because of the cloud coverage. But that extra wait was totally worth it.

We began the session at a sweet little eucalyptus grove in La Jolla, and then made our way over to Glider Point. The views are stunning the entire way down to the beach, so we stopped along the way to get some amazing photos.

And thank goodness, we were met with such a beautiful California sunset. The golden hour lighting was * chef’s kiss * and it only got better as the sun dipped below the horizon into blue hour.

It was such a blast adventuring in a new area with Alciona + Austin!
